Individual Therapy

I provide empathetic support with a lot of humor; even when things are tough, we must find the space to laugh. I provide cognitive/dialectical behavior therapy which is a concrete way of looking at how thoughts create feelings and how to shift away from unhelpful thoughts. Therapy isn't to make people feel better, it's to make people feel and learn to deal.

Whatever is going on, together, we will find the path through it. It won't always be fun and sometimes you might wonder why you agreed to go to therapy, but by finding a willingness to experience uncomfortable feelings, you'll find what it takes to enjoy your life.

I am primarily a BPD specialist (yes, really). Many people with BPD have been turned away from therapy or not gotten the correct therapy services which leads to feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. It is absolutely treatable when someone is willing to do the difficult work of looking at unhelpful and dangerous thoughts and behaviors and find new ways of responding to life's events.

To know for sure if you have BPD, you need to be assessed by a mental health professional. If it's something you're wondering about, here's a list of common behaviors and experiences for people who have BPD as well as the diagnostic criteria and treatment. Keep in mind that most of us will do any of these things during our lives, but it becomes concerning when these behaviors are seen in multiple settings (home, work, school), repeatedly, with little change.
